How to Get to Sule Pagoda

Because Sule Pagoda marks the exact centre of downtown Yangon, it is one of the easiest landmarks to reach. Whether you land at the airport or arrive by train, here are the practical ways to get there.

Where it is

The pagoda stands at the central junction of Sule Pagoda Road and Maha Bandula Road, Yangon 11141, beside Maha Bandula Park and Yangon City Hall.

From Yangon International Airport (RGN)

The airport is roughly 30–45 minutes from the city centre by taxi or Grab. Agree a fare beforehand or use the meter / ride-hailing app to avoid surprises.

From Yangon Central Railway Station

The pagoda is a short walk (under 1 km) through the downtown grid from the station. The Yangon Circular Train also stops nearby, a scenic way to arrive.

By bus or on foot

Public buses and ride-hailing services cover the downtown core, and most central hotels are within comfortable walking distance of the junction.
